Role in CNNCTS

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is committed to contributing to the Tribally-led network's goals of building capacity, providing technical training, and advancing collaborative climate adaptation projects in southern California. The CNNCTS program is an excellent complement to the Service's SoCal Urban Wildlife Refuge Project, which aims to engage diverse urban audiences in outdoor recreation, education, career development, and stewardship. The Service will actively participate in CNNCTS by providing in-kind support, including staff time, coordination and co-hosting of events on refuge lands, and contributing to training efforts, demonstrating their dedication to advancing Indigenous-led stewardship and collaborative opportunities in the region.
