Financial Data Specialist

The Finance Data Specialist is a detail-oriented, math-loving, Excel and Google Sheets wizard who efficiently tracks and manages financial data, enabling funds to effectively flow to enact TERA’s mission. Working in close partnership with the Financial Manager and Administrative Director, this is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys the satisfaction of keeping the financial house in order and building the health of a young and growing nonprofit organization.


Primary responsibilities include generating accounts receivable and accounts payable for reimbursable grants and contracts utilizing various systems including Google Sheets, QuickBooks, Ramp, and other applications, with the goal of transition to a fund accounting software in the near future. The position manages receipts, payroll data, project budgets, and other financial records within a shared Google Drive system.

The Financial Data Specialist requires strong math skills, meticulous attention to detail, basic understanding of finance, and adeptness with technology.

Grant Manager

The Grant Manager is an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced grant and project manager who is adept at navigating reimbursable state and federal grant requirements. This role will manage a portfolio of federal and state grants, which support a diverse set of activities including facilities upgrades; equipment purchases; workforce development training; and on-the-ground ecocultural fire and stewardship. The position reports to the Stewardship Director.


The Grant Manager will be responsible for managing compliance, reporting, and support invoicing for grants and collaborating with the Admin team to develop robust administrative systems organization-wide that are compliant with all relevant federal and state requirements. This role will also collaborate with TERA’s finance department to ensure all compliance and reporting requirements are met. Currently this portfolio includes managing a Housing and Community Development Community Development Block Grant subaward through the Workforce Alliance of the North Bay, a USDA Forest Service Community Wildfire Defense Grant subaward through the Lake Resource Conservation District, and a California Strategic Growth Council subaward through the Tamien Nation. This portfolio may shift and expand over time.

Administrative Director

An experienced supervisor and manager, the Administrative Director provides collaborative, high-level leadership in business operations, including finance and grant management, human resources, IT, and facilities/office management.  This position leads TERA to build administrative systems and operational processes that provide a solid foundation for its growth and longevity. Working in close tandem with the Executive Director (ED) and TERA staff, this position requires deep collaboration, interdisciplinary workflows, and strong attention to detail. Someone successful in this role will understand the structure and cadences of TERA’s overall grant portfolio, and oversee the flow of resources that help enable TERA’s programmatic and stewardship work.

Indigenous Just Transitions & Indigenous Climate Just Emergency Preparedness Program

This program from the Sacred Places Institute for Indigenous Peoples (SPI) is designed to be intertribal and intergenerational, providing our communities with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for climate and environmental challenges while honoring traditional wisdom. We are looking for Indigenous educators, knowledge holders, and cultural practitioners to lead teachings in one of the following six topics: Intertribal (Intergenerational) Cultural Exchange and Preparedness Marine Life and Biodiversity Climate Disaster Preparedness Food Sovereignty Traditional Medicine Essential Survival Tools and Sustainable Practices.

Acjachemen Tongva Land Conservancy (ATLC)

Social Media Intern

The Acjachemen Tongva Land Conservancy (ATLC) is seeking a student intern to assist with their social media presence and engagement. We invite college students committed to advancing Native and Indigenous knowledges along with a passion for rematriation, Indigenous stewardship, and social media communications to apply for this position. The student intern will work remote under supervision by ATLC staff as the social media specialist, in which they will: 

  • Collaborate with ATLC partners and staff to advance media engagement

  • Create ATLC social media posts (Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter))

  • Update the ATLC website

  • Write blogs and/or newsletters
