Role in CNNCTS
CSU Long Beach supports the CNNCTS project through their American Indian Studies Program. Collaborating with faculty from various departments, including the College of Liberal Arts, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Department of Geological Sciences, College of Engineering, and the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Management, the program will focus on the intersections and relationships between cultural burning practices and their effects on groundwater systems. Through data collection, analysis, and collaboration with tribal partners, the project aims to create an original dataset, conduct hydrologic modeling, and synthesize research in culturally appropriate and relevant ways for both Tribes and the broader academic community.
